Anna,

A few years ago, you dove head first out of the car. We rushed you to the ER, you had a head scan and scared us to death.

Tonight, you did it AGAIN! We were picking Taylor up from hip hop, you climbed over the back seat and I opened the door and before my eyes, you went tumbling out head first onto the concrete. I panicked, you screamed, I held back tears. You have a huge egg and some bruises. An ice cream seems to be just what the dr ordered.

Routine

Dear T, A, and H,

This morning, your dad very kindly stayed home until our Nikki arrived so I could get to work.  I found myself dragging my feet to get out the door because I love our routine.  We wake up (actually the three of  you usually wake up).  Taylor, you get Hudson out of the crib and the three of you come barreling down stairs full of energy, excitement, and anticipation.  You girls are so excited to surprise me by getting in your uniforms and brushing your hair before I see you.

Hudson, you love all of the morning rush!   You love having your "girls" whirl around you, you love that Elmo is on your diaper, and you LOVE having cereal for breakfast.  You stand by your seat at the bar and say "cereal" over and over until you are in your place and having your breakfast.

Breakfast is usually rushed, but there is a lot of happy chatter some days, and bickering over who has their feet on which chair, and Hudson grabbing someone's snack other days.  I still love all of it because it is predictable, and it is time with each of you.  Once breakfast is done the chaos begins: shoes on, snacks in backpacks, teeth brushed, beds made, dishwasher emptied and loaded.  I love all of it.

So, thank you to all three of you for each of these mornings. I love them and I love the time with you!

A Perfect Park Day

Dear T, A, and H,

As I have told you before, I was lucky enough to grow up in a pretty idyllic community. The town center has been revitalized and turned into the most remarkable park.

Before the Super Bowl on Sunday we set out for a morning of playing, bike riding and in your case bud "shubles" (shovels).

It was such a beautiful day and we had a great time. We finished the day with a yummy lunch at a local Mexican place. You girls love your burritos!!

Niners

T,A and H,

Our niners lost. It was such a great second half, but devastating in the end.

Picture obviously before the game. Not willing to document the post game.

A Date With My Loves

Dear Kids,

Last night was the BEST!  I have been working A LOT, so last night I came home early, and we set out for a dinner date.  Daddy has been traveling, so dinner out was just what we needed.

We went to a local burger place and you guys were so perfectly behaved, I thought you had either taken tranquilizers or were invaded by body snatchers.  Not one tantrum, so screeching (ah hem, Hudson), just coloring, wiki sticks, and chatting!  Heaven.

 Wiki Stix glasses.
Buddy, I just can't believe you are such a big guy coloring.  You also mastered drinking from a straw too!!

The picture above our table was of a skateboard and you loved it.  You kept saying, "skateboard, skateboard"

My loves!

Thanks for a great date.

Open House, Part II

My dear Taylor,

We absolutely loved seeing your enthusiasm and passion for your work in the classroom.  You love doing big projects, and we loved seeing the final result.  It was so crazy that you did an incredibly complicated report and diorama without any input (except for one small amazon order) from us.
 Your horned owl report cover!
Your diorama.

This is so amazing!  The painting, nature, all of it.
Lizzie the lizard in your class. You were excited to show him to us, until he did his "business" on your hand.
 The Warriors cat village.

 Our family tree above.

The most amazing self portrait I have ever seen.
Taylor- you are AMAZING!!!

Open House, Part I

My dear sweet Anna,

Have I told you lately that Daddy and I are so proud of you we could burst?  We spent the day at your school recently and went to family mass, and then got to see your work in your classroom!  It is beautiful, we absolutely loved all of it!  You are clearly working so hard, and we love to see your efforts.

Here are a few pictures:
 Your beautiful butterflies.
The life cycle of a butterfly.  Sorry photo needs to rotate.
