Other one?

Buddy,

You love your blankie.  You have a deep deep love for this blankie that Grandma Barbara made for you before you were born.  Now, you are a barfy kid.  It is pretty gross, but we are used to it now.

In an effort to streamline the routine when you barf late night, Grandma made a back up blankie.  That way, if original blankie was soaked in barf, and needed to hit the wash at 1am, we wouldn't need to stay up waiting for the wash to finish- we could throw the back up your way, and everyone is back to bed in 5 minutes or less.

So, flaw in the plan.  While Daddy and I would never show you both blankies at the same time (and you were fooled);  we didn't explain this whole thing to your sisters, who immediately showed you both at the same time.

Instantly you started to say, "blankie, other one."  Now you need both freaking blankies to do anything.

Crap.

We still love you.

Crafts, Part II

Taylor,

I always say that you are your Grandma Barbara.  You are built like she is, and you have her great crafting ability.  We got this cheapie craft kit at Target and you made these adorable flowers out of egg cartons with little button centers.

Great job love!

Grandpa's funny foods

Dear Taylor, Anna, and Hudson,

I have been thinking of Grandpa, and how he liked funny/silly foods.  My dad loved to cook, but also really loved a good Stouffer's meal.

He would often eat Creamed Chipped Beef.  Who eats this?  I am sure that it is mostly our friends in the mid-west.  Also, I am worried about who is buying this now that Grandpa isn't.

Grandpa also LOVED Welsh Rarebit.  Again, who eats this?  I know I tried chipped beef, but I really don't remember every trying Welsh Rarebit.

Ok, so for desserts.  Tapioca and rice pudding.  First, tapioca.  I know Grandpa would actually make this from scratch, but those tapioca pudding cups from the grocery store are seriously delicious.

Another of Grandpa's faves was definitely rice pudding.  That is, in fact, delicious too!!!

Well, kiddos.  I know that these are really small things about Grandpa, but these are the things that made him so special to me.

Date Night!!

Girls,

Date night!  Not for me and Daddy, but for the three of us.  Usually your date time is for you and Daddy, but since we were all home, I took advantage of a rare night where we could have a "girls night out."  We hit the Cheesecake Factory for your favorite alfredo pasta, and I got my delicious Thai Lettuce Cups- YUM!  You two loved that these mugs reminded you of the butter beer mugs from Harry Potter!!

Thanks for such a special night girls!

Little People!

Dear Hudson,

We have found your other favorite thing!  You seem to love things in pairs.  You love your cars and trains, and your little people, and they come together so nicely.  We picked up the little people school bus and Noah's arc and all three of you kids are having the best time ever playing with your toys!

One of the giraffe's may have lost his head in a battle with Granma's dog Bella.... sad day for this giraffe.  Below: we have a funny shelf at the end of our kitchen cabinets, but they have their purpose now- the little people fit perfectly!

Call us Crafty!

Girls,

I know that I say I am not crafty, but I should revise that to say I am smart enough to identify easy crafts on Pinterest that I know we can complete without me having a nervous breakdown!!!

Daddy will tell you that on Saturday night I was up until midnight searching for things to do at Taylor's birthday party to give it some structure/ make sure guests have a great time!   I found this one and knew we could do it- but wanted to do a dry run before there were nine girls staring at me while we failed.

So washi tape letters it was and it was super easy and fun!

Happenings and Highlights!!

My Sweet Trio,

This week we have been celebrating (?) spring break!! Lazy days, missed bed times and too much sugar!

Taylor, you checked out six books from Hubbie's library and blew through 5 in 5 days and have since finished the sixth!!!! You power read this week- which is your idea of heaven. Great job Tay!

In other news- my engagement ring has been missing for an undisclosed amount of time. In my family growing up, something wasn't missing unless you started to look for it- so I didn't look:). Last week I finally admitted to Daddy that I hadn't seen my ring lately. It wasn't missing yet, I was simply asking if he knew where it was.

Well, yesterday we launched a search. Nothing. As we fell asleep I said, not to worry, Anna will know where it is. Sure enough- we asked you this morning Anna, and you said "oh, it's probably in the couch." Sure enough- it was in the couch and I am thrilled to have the gang back together.

Xoxo
