Taylor, Anna, and Hudson,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I usually post this around Christmas/New Year's Eve as a good reminder.
This Christmas, mend a quarrel.
Seek out a forgotten friend.
Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust.
Write a letter.
Give a soft answer.
Encourage youth.
Manifest your loyalty in word and deed.
Keep a promise.
Forgo a grudge.
Forgive an enemy.
Apologize.
Try to understand.
Examine your demands on others.
Think first of someone else.
Be kind.
Be gentle.
Laugh a little more.
Express your gratitude.
Welcome a stranger.
Gladden the heart of a child.
Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth.
Speak your love and then speak it again.
Christmas is a celebration, and there is no celebration that compares with the realization of its true meaning--with the sudden stirring of the heart that has extended itself unselfishly in the things that matter most.

One idea that I just love, and really want to do every year is this: (from another blogger and of course I can't find it right now to link). Each NYE the family snuggles up by the fire with hot cocoa and s'mores and each person in the family writes something on a piece of paper that they regret, wish they could have done differently, or an interaction they would take back. Then without showing it to anyone, they throw it in the fireplace! They start the year fresh!
We started this New Year my favorite way.
Crissy Field Beach
It was so cold, and the wind was strong, but we were so happy to be there!
Playing in the sand, games on the beach, running around.
Daddy started his perfect day at 3:45 when he went duck hunting.
He was thrilled and we were happy he could meet us.
The 2015 version of the same shot we did last year. (sorta)
The 2014 version
2014 v.2
From the beach we went to Taylor's Refresher for lunch. Hudson, you are so so handsome.
As we close 2014 and open the door to 2015, I leave you with these wise words.
xoxo
