Maui 2015

Kiddos,

On March 12, 2004, Daddy and I were married in Maui.
It was one of the most spectacular days of my life, and was magical in so many ways.
Since we were married, we went back to Maui once in September 2006
with Taylor as a baby, and I was pregnant with Anna.
How cute is my beachy baby Tayla??

So, for Christmas, when Daddy surprised me with this trip, I went fully ugly cry.
I was so touched that he thought to do this.
So excited that we would get to go back to Maui as a couple rather than family (sorry kids).

The trip didn't disappoint.  In fact, it was better than I could have expected,
in ways I could not have dreamed.

Our first afternoon, we went directly to the pool and ordered a Lava Flow,
the greatest pool drink ever.
 Sunset the first night.

We asked a stranger to take our picture.....  not great, but we are both in it:)

The one thing I didn't expect was when we returned was to be overcome .....
with grief and sadness about my dad.
I was overwhelmed.
I miss him so much.
Being in that chapel, I could see him sitting there, with a huge smile when I married Daddy.
I could remember the excitement I felt when he walked me down the isle.
I am so grateful he was alive for that.
But, that first day.  Being back in the church, I was so sad.
Daddy took this picture.
I was reflecting on the so many wonderful times we had with Grandpa in Hawaii.
We came back to our room after we had a good cry and a nice long walk to find this:

Out of order, but when we first arrived.

the most beautiful beaches
The oceanfront lawn where we celebrated our wedding.
The gift of this trip, was really the gift of time with your dad.
Four days together.  It is so rare for us, but it made me so happy.

Our second night, we went back to the Grand Wailea for dinner and took a picture together.

Happy daddy with his huge margarita.
Sunday at the pool.
Is there anything better than this table?

And, to close out this magical trip.
A few waterlogues.
